Ceviche with Mango: Zesty Summer Treat!
Ceviche is a raw fish marinated in citrus like lime or lemon juice with olive oil and spices and served as an appetizer. [seh-VEE-chee; seh-VEE-cheh; seh-VEESH] is an appetizer popular in Latin America consisting of raw fish marinated in citrus (usually lime) juice. The action of the acid from lime juice or (vinegar) takes place to cook, firm and turn the raw fish flesh of the meat it into impervious. It is usually served with onions, tomatoes and green peppers are often added to marinate.
Ready your choice raw meat, you may used fish more preferably sea base ( salmon, red snapper, rockfish, pompano, sole, cod) or seafood( oyster, scallop, shrimp) then finely cut it into small pieces.
In one bowl combine all the ingredients that we will needing for marination lime juice or (vinegar), fresh sliced tomatoes ( red or green), green or red chillies (seeded) slice thinly, mangoes cuts into cubes, red and green bell pepper ( seeded) finely chopped, and olive oil . For the seasoning add a dash of salt, pepper, sugar and finely chopped parsley adjust it according to taste.
Finally pour the mixture over the meat, refrigerate and let it stay there for 5 hours before serving. It’s good to be paired with lettuce and light crackers. This is a very refreshing treat for this summer. Bon appetit!
